Phone calls don't go through..

Some are responded to immediately,
Some not for hours.
One more person to check on,
Scour the images...
Do you see...
Do you know..
Turn it off..
Can't stomach it anymore..
Don't want to see..
just want to know..
stomach in knots..
Finally..
All are safe...
All are accounted for..
some were there...
most were not...
some cuts and scrapes..
Insanity is the only word that describes it..
Stomach knots start to release...
but will they ever completely?
Will we ever feel safe?
Can we go out?
Avoid large crowds..
nothing for a little while..
Yes, we will be resilient..
yes, we will applaud those who run towards the blast instead of away
yes, we are Americans
Yes we will get through it...
tomorrow.
For a minute, I just stop, put down some words, and cry.

Thoughts and Prayers
I have posted this before and will again and again, because in these times of senseless violence and attacks on innocent people, it is important to remember that while watching an endless loop of the bombs exploding there were people running toward the blasts to help.
Everyone I know who was there is thankfully accounted for and unharmed.
My thoughts and prayers out to the universe this morning to anyone who was injured or killed in yesterday's attacks.
Hold your loved ones a bit tighter, use the words I love you a lot and know that I am thinking of each and every one of you today!

Post vacation crazy!!
vacation was fantastic.
It was a great week and lots of fun with some of my favorite people who I happen to be related to....
This week has been insane.....
Work was long and crazy...and trying to get cleaned up from being away was time sucking...
So for now, before I decide go curl up in my nice warm bed without an alarm clock set, I decided I needed to share some pictures with you...

Sending warm hugs!!
The weather is starting to warm up here...two days it has been above freezing at 6am when I head to work...
But tomorrow....I will be sending warm hugs from one of my favorite places..

Winter Blues
today..is officially the first day of spring.
We woke up to a sparkling cover of shiny white new SNOW!!
!4 inches to be exact...
and freezing cold weather...
I CAN'T wait to go to Mexico....
In other news...
nothing exciting..
I have a dentist appointment tomorrow to get a couple of cavities filled..the first of a few since they want to drill out all my old fillings for new ones...
Wish me luck.....that is my least favorite place to be.
Work is work...
Spent last weekend playing the leprechaun up north for my nephews...
We adults had a pretty good party on Saturday night...
Food was eaten..
Drinks were consumed...
Let's just say, I was pretty impressed that not only did the leprechaun hide all of the stuff that was procurred earlier in the day from the dollar store but she also managed to write a poem in legible hand writing that actually rhymed to help them find all the goodies...and made rainbow colored cupcakes....I was pretty impressed with myself...
(no, we don't normally do stuff for St. Paddy's day, but we won't be here for easter or a kiddos birthday so I needed some spoil the kid time)
I hope all is well in your corners of the world....and that you hopefully are enjoying the warm breezes of spring at your doorstep...

Coming out of Hibernation
Well, at the beginning of last month the groundhog said we would have an early spring.
Since then, we have gotten 61 inches of snow, including a snow storm that dumped 32 inches of snow on us.
Insane.
We have a tendency around to here to hibernate for the winter....
I love the weekends that we can just curl up and do nothing at all.
We haven't had many of those in the last few weeks as we have been traveling a bit and stuff has kept us busy...but we were determined to do just that this weekend.
With all hope, the worst of the winter is behind us and we will be gearing up for the spring....
Spring cleaning desperately needs to start, but the windows can't be opened yet (not just because of the cold, but some of them the snow banks go half way up)...and that seems to be a good excuse.
But, traveling will commence shortly and I actually have the spring/summer planned out really well in terms of vacation time...Mexico, Pittsburgh, visitors coming here and maybe swinging out to Vegas at the end of the summer...all sound really nice...
Things have been insane at work and it makes me not motivated when I get home.
I need to figure out a better balance (don't we all)...but I am struggling a bit with that....
I feel like the harder I work, the less I want to do anything when I am home...so any suggestions would be welcome...
What else has been going on here.....
Not much honestly...
I got a new tattoo which makes me really happy...pictures will come when it heals fully. I will tell you it was on my foot and probably the most intense pain I have felt in my life! It was definitely worth it...
Hubby has joined a group here (I won't say which one, but it has been the subject of several movies with Nicholas Cage). He is pretty excited. It is weird though cause he can't share any of the details of the meetings he goes to....which I understand is part of it but we dont usually keep things from each other like that....just different. I know he is happy and feels like he is honoring his grandfather by doing it, so I support him wholeheartedly.
That's about it here....it is late and I am super tired and don't want to sleep the whole day away tomorrow so I will sign off...
